Actually... there is one thing I've been thinking about. People here have all sorts of pets, right? And there's the vets office where they can take care of them. I've never had a pet before, but if I'm going to be here for a while, I might as well do something that makes me happy. And I have a lot more free time lately, plenty of time to take care of a pet.

Sure. Pets certainly seem to help a lot of people here. What are you wanting?

A frog! I can make a list of all the equipment I'll need to take care of him. And I promise to have a back-up person to look after him if I'm in a coma.

[heyboss]

Sounds like you've got it all figured out. Send me the list and I'll make the request.

Of course!

[ And then like one minute later, Sheehan gets a VERY DETAILED list of stuff needed for the care and keeping of frogs. ]

[heyboss]

One moment.

[He sends off his request and when the answer comes back, he returns.]

There now. You should have what you need. Make sure, though. I don't want to miss anything.

[ Nana is practically VIBRATING with happiness ]

This is perfect! It's everything I need. Oooh, look at his little face! He's the cutest thing in the whole wide world!

Well, show me. I have to see his face.

[ She very carefully holds the frog up to the camera. Noticeably, there is now a FUCKIN BIG TANK taking up a corner of the room. Her dorm room is probably going to have to be a bit bigger at some point. ]

Look at him! I'm gonna call him Lettuce!

[heyboss]

Lettuce.

Perfect.

I'll have to come meet him in person one day.

You can always come over to my room and meet him now.

Absolutely! I'll see you soon!

[heyboss]

[And he happily goes to her cabin and knocks at the door.]

[ Nana opens the door with a smile. The room's obviously had to be rearranged a bit: Lettuce's tank is currently sitting in front of a dresser. Nana's room is also designed to have been a dorm room: there are two beds, two desks, two dressers. One side of the room is immaculate and clean. The other side of the room is a bit more messy. The other side is also obviously Nana's as a few stuffed frogs are on the bed. ]

Come inside! I don't have any snacks aside from some candy, otherwise I'd offer you some...I've got water! And a few canned coffees I got from the commissary. Hahaha, they're room temperature, though...

[heyboss]

It's fine, Nana.

[He laughs a little.]

You know, you might have more room if you didn't have this extra furniture.

[reviewstarlight]

Mmm, I don't mind the lack of space!

[ It is actively inconveniencing. ]

Besides, this is my dorm room. It's supposed to have the extra furniture—I had a roommate back home.

[heyboss]

Oh yeah? What was she like?

[He walks over to the little enclosure and peers inside through the glass to the frog.

Damn. He's pretty cute.]

She's the reason why I've been reading philosophy! Her name's Junna. She's smart and she's possibly the most determined person I've ever met. I'm nowhere near her level when it comes to brains.

[heyboss]

Ah! The infamous Junna. Yes, you told me about her in the library.

[He looks over his shoulder.]

I wonder what she would think of you keeping this furniture when you don't need it!

[ Oh Sheehan. Nana wasn't born yesterday. She looks over at Sheehan and lightly teases, ]

She'd want me to keep it, of course. After all, if she knew about this situation, she'd be here on the Barge to begin with!

[heyboss]

Ah, but she's not. What side would she be on? Inmate or warden?

[He doesn't always ask questions this brazen, but he's doing it now. For her.]

Probably inmate. After all, she's guilty of the same things I am.

[ she sure as fuck is not. But at this moment, at this place in time, Nana's not entirely sure what she's guilty of in the first place. ]

[heyboss]

Oh? And what things are that?

[He's not playing tricks today. Just curious.]

We're hungry. We're selfish. We'll fight and claw our way to our final stage, our stage of dreams by any means necessary.

[ There's a pause before, ]

I think the Admiral views selfishness as my crime. But it's not. It's foolish to punish someone for being selfish. That's a stage girl's very soul.
