Yeah. It...says a lot about the Barge that a lot of people's responses to this have been something like 'oh, this is totally normal' or 'just another day on the Barge' or something like that.
Hanna didn't mean to do this. We're friends, I know he wouldn't intentionally harm everybody like this. What I'm worried about is the fact that we're on a ship where people react to something so horribly traumatizing with what's basically a shrug.
I don't really know how to feel about him. He gave me Lettuce-chan, which I'm super happy with and I'm super thankful for. And he talked about something he did back home that I was super impressed by. But I don't know...a lot of the times when you're talking with him, it's like he's looking for you to say something or waiting for a specific answer.
I really think he means well! But...well, it's probably a bad sign that I've got to say things like 'I think he means well' in the first place, huh?
Sheehan sits by a fire, fingers trembling as he just watches the flames flicker and dance in the moonlight. Arthur and John are elsewhere, everyone is elsewhere, but Sheehan remains just - watching. He rubs his hands together, trying to massage out any of the tension there, but he knows that it's hopeless.
He spots Nana down the way and waves her over, hoping to at least get a quick check in, even if she prefers to stay with other people.
Nana's spent this whole time being her helpful banana self. Bright, smiley, doing her best, offering to help carry things or move things or get a fire started. She's only admitted just how much she absolutely hates this to a few people.
Sheehan can find her by herself, scrolling through her phone, which somehow remained intact and not water damaged during that whole mess. When she hears him approach, Nana looks up from her spot, seated on the ground, and gives her warden a big fake smile.
Sheehan's tired. So is Nana. She spent this entire trip ping-ponging between 'I should enjoy myself' and 'something wrong is going to happen.' She hates that this is where the trip landed on.
"Y'know, I left Lettuce on the Barge. His tank was too big to carry. I didn't trust the Admiral, but there wasn't anything I could do, you know? And I'm sure other people left their fish or their plants or things like that."
And now she's here, stuck on a beach who knows where, with her emotional support frog nowhere in sight.
And Nana walks up to the deck, looking around, small frown on her face as she spots Sheehan. When she sees him, she gives him a little nod before walking over with a small smile.
After announcements
[He doesn't sound sad about that at all. Repression is the way to go!]

Hahaha...I didn't know he was going to announce the pairings like that!

I was informed by Madamoiselle Florbelle that you may benefit from a status update.
I am fine. Are you?
no subject
But yeah, I'm fine. That last week was really rough, so I've been worried about everybody!

I am led to believe it was an exceptionally cruel and, paradoxically, exceptionally mundane for the people living here.
I will be conducting interviews and presenting my findings to the responsible party's warden. Do you wish to add insights of your own?

It's...not right.

I have noticed some wardens have volunteered their mind healing and therapeutic abilities.

On the Beach

"Busy few days, huh."
Re: On the Beach
There's nothing in him but exhaustion now. He is glad to see her, even if he can see through that fake smile. "Mind if I sit a minute?"
Re: On the Beach
There's a pause as Sheehan sits down. Nana's quiet for another moment, thinking things over, before she admits, "I'm glad you didn't drown."
Re: On the Beach
"Yeah," he nods. "Me too. I'm glad you made it here."
